If you missed the last game you have more of the same in this version. The move for diverse classes and multiple archetypes is a highlight.

All in all- the game is a decent co-op experience, but slightly more boring as a solo experience. As this is a spoiler-free review, you be the judge.

For example, my starting rifle killed first zone normal enemies with two body crits, and at +7, the mobs still remained two body crits kills. Scaling this time around makes most, but not all weapons feel like you're never getting any more powerful. Dodge rolling this time around is not as precise as other similar games and levels often are unforgiving (death ledges and narrow hallways). Leaving a relic menu can lock character inputs, performance issues can cause input lag resulting in double inputs or no input. What's new is the slower grind, outrageous bugs and glitches, and worse performance. Even some of the puzzles are almost identical. Comparing it to the previous iteration, From The Ashes, there's a lot similar - characters, zones, even some dialogue and story. Please let us NOT normalize mediocrity, just because everyone else is making terrible games.Ĭomparing it to the previous iteration, From Please let us NOT normalize mediocrity, just because everyone else is making terrible games. Overall, I have a whole lot of positive experiences with this game and very few negative ones. I even fought a boss that looked VERY similar to another boss, and I was getting ready to be disappointed at fighting the same boss twice, when he pulled out like 5 all new mechanics and absolutely murdered me for 3 hours straight. The rest were bangers, and had varied mechanics that kept me interested. (3070ti laptop) Out of the around 25 bosses I remember fighting, only one was kind of meh. A lot of people are complaining about performance issues, and the worst I had was sometimes my game would hitch for like 1 second, but it was hardly even a distraction it happened so infrequently. A lot of people are complaining about crashes, and I received one of those in about 20 hours. Sure some bosses are way harder than others, but it seemed like the required bosses were the easier ones and that is understandable to me. And what I like about the game: Pretty much everything else. It was really concerning to me right away, that a new player might be stuck with that world in their main game and just come to hate the game based on that. It seemed like I got the most frustrating areas all strung together, and I hated it. Then I spawned an 'adventure' of that same world, and it was AWFUL. I won't spoil anything, but it was incredible. I started in the medieval zone, and it was an amazing experience. Since everything in the game is procedurally generated, you can get stuck with some really BAD zones. I will start with the one problem I have with the game. I can't imagine this would be very fun alone. I can't imagine this would be This game is fun as heck!!! No matter which part of the multiverse you find yourself in, you should do yourself a favor and play this gem. With completely engrossing combat, challenging and memorable boss fights, ultra-dense buildcrafting options, incredibly cool procedurally generated levels, and a clever multiversal concept that allows for a ton of different adventures in one package, it’s very likely going to become one of my most-played games this year. This is a triumphant sequel that doesn’t just reimagine the soulslike genre as a co-op looter-shooter, but absolutely nails that concept in nearly every way – including many that the original did not. It’s astounding to think that if I were to create a list of my favorite soulslikes, my favorite looter shooters, and my favorite procedurally generated games, Remnant 2 would appear on all of those lists.
